How artists price this
Bridal makeup is usually quoted per look: one rate for the bride on the day, a separate rate for a trial, and a per-face rate for bridesmaids, mothers and aso-ebi ladies. A bride alone is a short booking; a bride plus eight bridesmaids and two mothers needs an assistant or a very early start, and pre-dawn call times for a morning traditional engagement carry a surcharge with many artists. Travel to your home or hotel adds time and sometimes a fee. Add-ons include strip or individual lashes, airbrush, skin prep and touch-up kits; a trial is priced separately.
Gele specifics
Gele is often tied by the same artist, sometimes by a specialist. Price depends on the fabric (aso-oke and stiff sego hold differently from soft fabrics), the style (layered, pleated, fan or sculpted), whether an ipele is tied too, and how many heads. Pre-tied geles exist, but a bride usually wants hers tied on the day for a perfect fit.
