Afrihelps LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. This Policy explains how payments, refunds, and cancellations work in connection with the Afrihelps website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Marketplace”). It applies to all Users, including Consumers and Service Providers. By using the Marketplace, you agree to the terms of this Policy.
1. Afrihelps Does Not Process Payments
Afrihelps is a directory and connection platform. Afrihelps:
- Does not process, collect, hold, or transmit payments
- Does not set prices for services
- Does not charge Consumers for using the Marketplace
- Is not a party to any transaction between a Consumer and a Service Provider
Every payment for services is a private transaction arranged directly between the Consumer and the Service Provider.
2. How Payments Work
Consumers pay Service Providers directly, using whatever method the two agree, for example:
- Cash
- Bank transfer
- Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal
- A payment link or card terminal operated by the Service Provider
Afrihelps has no visibility of these payments, does not record them, and does not verify that they were made.
3. Agreeing Terms Before Work Begins
Before any work begins, Consumers and Service Providers should agree in writing, such as by message, on:
- The price, including any deposit and any expected additional charges
- What is included in the service
- The date, time, and location
- The Service Provider’s refund and cancellation policy
Service Providers are required by the Provider Code of Conduct to state their prices and their refund and cancellation policies clearly and in advance, and to honour them.
4. Refunds
Afrihelps does not issue refunds, hold funds in escrow, reverse payments, or approve or deny refund requests.
Refunds are governed entirely by the agreement between the Consumer and the Service Provider. If a Consumer wants a refund, the request must be made directly to the Service Provider.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations are handled directly between the Consumer and the Service Provider, according to the policy that Service Provider communicated before the booking. Afrihelps does not intervene, mediate, or issue credits.
6. Disputes
Afrihelps is not a party to any financial or service-related dispute between Users. Afrihelps does not mediate disputes, issue refunds, enforce agreements, provide compensation, or determine who is right.
Users must resolve disputes directly with each other. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, Users may pursue any remedy available to them by law, including a small claims action or a chargeback with their own payment provider where applicable.
Users may report fraud, misrepresentation, or unsafe conduct to hello@afrihelps.com. Afrihelps may investigate and may suspend or remove a Service Provider from the Marketplace, but this is an enforcement action against the listing and is not a financial remedy for the Consumer.
7. Marketplace Fees
Afrihelps currently charges no fees to Consumers or Service Providers for use of the Marketplace. Any future fees charged by Afrihelps are governed by the Terms of Service and the Provider Marketplace Agreement, and are separate from payments made to Service Providers for their services.
8. Future Payment Features
Afrihelps may introduce payment features in the future, such as in-platform payments, deposits, platform-managed refunds, or booking systems. If implemented, Users will receive advance notice, this Policy will be updated, and continued use of the Marketplace after the effective date will constitute acceptance.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afrihelps is not liable for payment disputes, refund denials, cancellations, service dissatisfaction, financial loss, or fraud or misrepresentation by Users. Afrihelps’ total liability is limited as described in the Terms of Service.
10. Changes to This Policy
Afrihelps may update this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Marketplace or by email. Continued use of the Marketplace after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
