Afrihelps LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. This Consumer Safety Notice (“Notice”) provides important information to help Consumers use the Afrihelps website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Marketplace”) safely. By using the Marketplace, you acknowledge and agree to this Notice. Afrihelps is committed to supporting safe interactions within the African and diaspora community. Afrihelps is not a service provider, employer, agent, or representative of any Service Provider. All engagements between Consumers and Service Providers occur independently of Afrihelps.
1. Afrihelps’ Role
Afrihelps is a digital directory that enables Consumers to discover and contact Service Providers. Afrihelps:
- Does not supervise or control Service Providers
- Does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services
- Does not process payments
- Does not participate in service agreements or transactions
- Does not endorse or recommend any specific Service Provider
Consumers must evaluate Service Providers independently.
2. Identity Verification
2.1 Government-Issued ID Only
Afrihelps requires every Service Provider to submit a valid government-issued identification document before their listing is published.
This verification confirms identity only. It does not confirm:
- Criminal history
- Professional qualifications
- Licensing or certifications
- Insurance coverage
- Employment or education history
- Skill level or service quality
2.2 No Background Checks at This Time
Afrihelps does not currently conduct background checks of any kind.
2.3 Future Verification
Afrihelps may introduce background checks or additional verification in the future. Consumers will be notified if this happens.
3. Payment Safety
Afrihelps does not process payments. Every payment is made directly between you and the Service Provider, using a method you both agree, such as cash, bank transfer, Zelle, Cash App, or PayPal.
Because Afrihelps is not part of the transaction, Afrihelps cannot issue refunds, reverse payments, recover funds, or decide payment disputes.
To protect yourself:
- Agree the full price in writing, by message, before work begins, including any deposit and possible extra charges
- Ask for the Provider’s refund and cancellation policy before you commit
- Be cautious with large upfront deposits, especially before any work has started
- Prefer a payment method that leaves a record over untraceable cash where possible
- Keep receipts, messages, and written confirmations
- Never share payment card numbers, bank login details, or your Social Security number with a Provider. No legitimate Provider needs them.
4. Protecting Your Personal Information
Your contact details are shared with a Provider only when you choose to connect with them.
- Share only what the Provider needs to deliver the service
- Be cautious about sharing your home address until you are comfortable
- Report any Provider who adds you to marketing lists or group chats without your consent
- Report any Provider who requests unnecessary personal or financial information
5. Safety Tips for Consumers
5.1 Check Credentials
Ask Service Providers for licences, certifications, insurance, references, or work samples. Afrihelps does not verify these.
5.2 Communicate Clearly
Discuss expectations, pricing, timelines, and deliverables before agreeing to any service, and keep it in writing.
5.3 Meet Safely
If meeting in person:
- Choose public or well-lit locations for first meetings where practical
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going
- If a Provider is coming to your home, consider having someone else present
- Avoid sharing unnecessary personal information
5.4 Trust Your Instincts
If something feels wrong, stop the engagement, discontinue communication, and report the Provider to Afrihelps.
6. Reporting Concerns
Consumers may report fraud, misrepresentation, harassment, unsafe behaviour, or suspicious activity to ceo@afrihelps.com.
Afrihelps may investigate reports and take action, including suspending or removing Service Providers. Afrihelps does not guarantee resolution of disputes and cannot provide financial remedies.
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services on 911 first.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afrihelps is not liable for Service Provider actions or omissions, payment disputes, fraud or misrepresentation, personal injury or property damage, dissatisfaction with services, or any losses arising from Consumer decisions.
Consumers engage Service Providers at their own risk.
8. Changes to This Notice
Afrihelps may update this Notice at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Marketplace or by email. Continued use of the Marketplace after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
