This notice explains what Afrihelps LLC (“Afrihelps,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) stores on your device when you use the Afrihelps website and mobile application (the “Marketplace”), and how to remove it. It supplements section 5 of our Privacy Policy. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics.
1. What we store, and why
The Marketplace works without cookies for visitors who are not signed in. Once you sign in, it keeps the following on your device so you stay signed in and the site remembers how you left it.
- Session token (browser storage, afrihelps.com): proves who you are on each request after you sign in. Removed when you sign out; otherwise it expires on its own.
- Your account summary (browser storage): your name, email and role, so the page can show them before the server answers. Removed when you sign out.
- Display preferences (browser storage): small settings such as which dashboard you use and which notices you have dismissed. They contain no personal information.
- Admin session cookie (afri_admin_session, cookie on .afrihelps.com): set only for Afrihelps staff signing in to the admin console. HttpOnly, Secure, expires on its own.
- Mobile application: the same session token, held in the device's secure storage, and a device token that lets us deliver the push notifications you turn on.
2. Third parties
Some features load code from other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Google (Sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication, Google Maps): used when you sign in with Google or when a page shows a map or address search. Google's cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Facebook (Facebook Login): used only if you sign in with Facebook, governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, mobile application only): governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
3. What we do not do
- We set no advertising or retargeting cookies.
- We run no third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
- We do not sell or share what is stored on your device with anyone.
4. Removing it
Signing out removes your session token and account summary. Clearing site data for afrihelps.com in your browser removes everything listed in section 1. On the mobile application, signing out or deleting the application does the same. Because these items only exist to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, removing them means signing in again.
